Terms of Use

GeoReady · Terms of Use

Last updated: October 14, 2026

These terms apply when you use the free GeoReady services: the audit, tools and guides on geoready.dev, its public audit API, and the audit service that the GeoReady WordPress plugin calls on app.geoready.dev. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

What these terms do not cover

  • Paid plans on app.geoready.dev (subscriptions, billing, monitoring) are governed by separate terms that you accept when you subscribe.
  • The open-source code. The GEO Optimizer engine is released under the MIT License and the WordPress plugin under the GPL. If you run that code yourself, its licence applies, not these terms. These terms cover the hosted services we run.

How the audit works

When you submit a URL, our servers request the publicly available pages and files of that site (for example the home page, robots.txt and llms.txt), analyse them and return a score with recommendations. We do not log in to your site, so password-protected pages cannot be audited, and addresses on private networks or local hosts are refused.

To keep the service available for everyone, requests are rate-limited, both per visitor and per audited site, and recent results can be served from a short-lived cache instead of a new audit. The limits are not part of these terms and may change.

What the score is, and what it is not

The score and the recommendations are produced automatically from the content your site serves at the moment of the audit, using the method published on the methodology page. They describe how ready the page is to be read by AI search systems.

They are not a guarantee that any AI system, search engine or assistant will cite, rank or mention your site, and they are not legal, security or accessibility advice. A site can change between two audits, and so can the systems the score is about. Check a recommendation before you apply it to a production site.

Using the service fairly

You agree not to:

  • submit URLs you are not entitled to have analysed;
  • use the audit to put load on a third-party site, or try to get around the rate limits, for example by rotating IP addresses or running many installs against the same site;
  • try to make our servers reach private networks or internal addresses;
  • interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities outside a disclosed report, or use it in a way that breaks the law.

We may refuse, limit or block requests that do any of these things, without notice. Security issues can be reported privately to the address above.

The WordPress plugin

When you run an audit from the plugin, it sends the address of your site, a flag that says whether you allowed benchmark statistics, and the plugin and WordPress versions. The versions are checked for format and not stored. The plugin also sends its own user agent, GeoReady-WordPress/<version>.

The benchmark setting is off by default. If you turn it on, each audit also saves a pseudonymised record used only for aggregate statistics: a keyed hash of the domain instead of the domain itself, its top-level domain, the date, the engine version, the scores and the check results. The record is pseudonymised, not anonymous. Turning the setting off stops new records from being saved.

The files the plugin generates on your site (llms.txt, ai.txt, summary.json) are built from your own published content and stay on your server. You are responsible for what they publish.

Availability and changes

The free services are provided as they are, without a service-level commitment. We may change, suspend or discontinue any of them, including the API the plugin uses. When a change affects the plugin, we will say so in the plugin’s changelog.

Your content and ours

Your site and its content remain yours; analysing them gives us no rights over them. The GeoReady name, the site design and the written guides belong to the operator. The open-source code is covered by its own licence, as stated above.

Liability

The free services are provided as they are, without warranty. A higher GEO score is not a promise of citations or traffic, and we do not guarantee the audit is free of errors or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you take based on a free audit. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or the mandatory rights of consumers.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law, and the courts of Chieti have jurisdiction. If you use the service as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply, regardless of this clause.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the services change, and the date at the top says when. Using a service after a change means the updated terms apply from then on.
